Cloud hosting vs VPS: resources or server control?
Compare VPSLibre Cloud hosting and Linux VPS plans by site allowance, memory, software access and administration. Choose the environment your project needs.
Identify the limit you are trying to solve
Cloud hosting and a VPS can both be considered when a project grows, but they answer different requirements. The VPSLibre Cloud range offers website plans with a site allowance, storage and a listed memory allocation. The Linux VPS range provides a server configuration with an operating-system choice. Begin with the requirement that your current environment cannot meet.
An agency running several PHP websites may need a larger website plan. An application requiring containers, system packages or a custom service may need a VPS. A slow page does not by itself identify the correct hosting family: investigate application errors, database queries, media and resource use before choosing a larger plan.
Compare the resources that each offer actually lists
Read the current plan cards and detailed configuration rather than treating “Cloud” as a guarantee of a particular infrastructure. Compare the allowed websites, storage and memory against your project. A site allowance is a limit to check, not a promise that every website has identical resource needs.
For a VPS, consider all services sharing the listed vCPU, RAM, storage and transfer allowance. Include the operating system, database, web server and background work. Neither the Cloud label nor additional memory establishes a visitor capacity, dedicated infrastructure, automatic scaling or a particular page speed.

Several websites
Compare the plan’s site allowance, storage and memory.
Plan each application and the combined server workload.
Software environment
Check the offered website software and PHP preferences.
Choose an available Linux OS and compatible preparation options.
System administration
Confirm the actual access and responsibilities for the website service.
Plan system access, updates, services and recovery.
Extra space
Review the storage choices in the configurator.
Include system and application data when selecting storage.
Check software requirements and the access you need
Write down your runtime, required extensions, database, scheduled tasks and any long-running processes. The Cloud configurator offers its available website software and PHP preferences; this does not establish unrestricted shell access or permission to install arbitrary system packages. Confirm requirements that are not described in the offer before ordering.
Choose a Linux VPS when the project needs the available server environment and you can maintain it. Its initial preparation choices include the operating system alone, Docker or Nginx, with panel compatibility checked separately. A control panel and a deployment profile are different choices: neither changes what your application itself requires.
Decide who will maintain application code, database settings, credentials, updates and backups. For a VPS, include operating-system administration and access controls. Selecting an initial environment or panel does not establish an ongoing managed-service agreement; read what is actually included.
For several sites, document how a change or recovery operation could affect the others. Plan separate backups for the relevant files and databases, and a place to test changes before applying them to live sites. More resources cannot replace a recovery plan or fix an untested deployment.
Choose Cloud if its website environment and listed limits meet your needs. Choose a VPS if you need the available Linux environment and have an administration plan. If you are still deciding between basic website hosting and a server, start with the Web hosting vs VPS guide before comparing the larger configurations.
Open the relevant family to compare the current offers, then inspect the full quotation and optional charges. Services have a three-month minimum, with three, six or twelve months available. Payment confirmation and hosting activation are separate stages; the selected configuration describes the requested service.
Record the number of sites and the software each one needs.
Measure current storage and memory use where those measurements are available.
Identify whether system packages, containers or direct server administration are required.
Name the person responsible for updates, access and recovery.
Compare those requirements with the current plan and its complete quotation.
